ServicesFull-home renovation design in Toronto
A full-home renovation changes how a house works: new layouts, opened or moved walls, new kitchens and bathrooms, and finishes throughout. Renotect designs the whole project, prepares the permit drawings in-house and follows the work on site, so you deal with one studio from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.

One studio for design, drawings and site
Every renovation is scoped around your house, budget and schedule. These are the parts we take care of.
- 01
Existing conditions
We measure and document the house as it is today, so the design starts from accurate drawings.
- 02
Layout and space planning
New layouts for how you want to live: open plans, better flow, more storage and light.
- 03
3D visuals and material boards
You see the rooms, finishes and lighting before anything is ordered or demolished.
- 04
Structural changes
Moving or removing walls and openings, coordinated with a structural engineer where the design needs one.
- 05
Permit and construction drawings
A BCIN-qualified designer prepares the drawings for permit and for contractors to price the same, clearly defined job.
- 06
Site oversight
The person who designed your home follows it on site through construction, so the build matches the design.
Does your renovation need a permit?
In Toronto and the rest of Ontario, work that changes the structure of a house, adds space, moves or adds plumbing, or changes how a space is used usually needs a building permit from the municipality. Cosmetic work such as painting, new flooring or replacing cabinets in the same layout usually does not.
We tell you early which approvals your project needs, and prepare the drawings for them as part of the design. Read more about our permit drawings for houses and small buildings.

Renovation questions
How long does a full-home renovation take?
It depends on the size of the house, the scope and the permit review. After the consultation we give you a realistic schedule for design, permits and construction.
How much does a full-home renovation cost?
The cost depends on the size, the scope and the finishes you choose. Detailed drawings and selections let contractors price the same job, so you can compare quotes and plan a realistic budget.
Do you work outside Toronto?
Yes. We are based in Etobicoke and work across the GTA, including Vaughan, North York, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Markham and Oakville.
